what all has to be changed 86 alpha to 92 alpha gen2?

I currently have a 86 mercruiser alpha.While looking at it today.I c i have alot of play in the upper and lower hinge pin area plus my outer transom plate is starting to show it's age. I have a 1992 boat with an almost brand new alpha 1 gen 2 setup. Can i just install the whole outer setup? The shift cable looks the same between the both of them. I know i'll have to use a alpha 1 gen 2 outdrive.

Ayuh,... From the rear motor mounts Aft needs to be swapped...

also according to this website the inner transom plate is the same for all models

Ayuh,... I Think I gathered that 1 of these is for an Inline motor,+ the other is a V-motor...
Yes, the exhaust will be Different...

The Gen.II has 2 more bolts through the transom....
Maybe those new bolts line upwith the older transom plates,... Donno....
