:) Sand eels have arrived in big numbers on Middle Bank on the NW Corner just 12 miles from Cape Ann!!! We haven't seen these 5-8 inch fish for a few years, maybe they are on the upswing of the cycle!!!

And the eels have brought along the Whales!!! There are humpbacks and finback whales working the bank!!! the humpbacks are the ones you want to watch, they are the ones that give you a show by breeching!!! ;)

Re: WHALES

Sand eel is also a favorite food of stripers and blues. The fact that they came this far up north is a sure sign that the water is warming up early.
Next thing you may see is fluke in the shallows.

Re: WHALES

:) It was a weekly fishing article in a regular daily newspapaper in Fall River Massachusetts or could have been the Somerset newspaper and could have been written by a Dave Souza who writes a weekly!!! The article can't be anymore then a week or two old so you may be able to retrieve it on the internet!!! And I gave that article to an avid striper fishing friend of mine at coffee the other morning!!!!!!!
