Welsh Plug Number

What information does a Welsh Plug number tell you and where can you look it up. Mine is G3305000 and it's on a 1999 225 Johnson Looper. I'd just like to know what the above number can tell me. I want to buy a manual for the engine and want to make sure it's the right year.

It means that you have the 3,305,000th Johnson built since the early 1900s. That includes all sizes and models. The G tells what assembly plant it came out of.

So.o.o.o., to really identify what you have you need a model number, not the serial number.

Thanks for the replies. I was able to call BRP and talk with someone about it. Your right..it is a 93 Powerhead.
