They put out a memo today, all 5 lug nuts will be on the car and they can call you into the pit at their discretion to make sure at anytime.

Good!, lets get away from this playing games with safety!

Now it will be interesting to see what happens with the $35K fine!

Fine, what fine? That was a voluntary donation to the France family vacation fund. :facepalm.

If the punishment isn't overturned, I want to hear the reasoning.

I am for the 5 lug rule but them pulling people in to check whenever they want is wrong. They used to be able to do it before without randomly calling people into the pits. Maybe they should have more nascar workers on pit road or setup a camera system.

The drivers group agreed to pay for it. Hopefully it is not enforced though since it proves Tony was right and not insulting.

The drivers group is only 9 drivers, so it isn't spread across all the drivers. Whether Smoke paid the fine himself or fans donated to pay it, the $35K fine should be dropped or returned and the nonexistent rule violation should be removed from his record.

Stewart raised a safety issue and was punished for it. Way to go Nascar! Now it's a matter of principle for all involved, in my opinion.

As far as more officials or cameras - Nascar did put cameras in every pit and dropped the over the wall officials to save money. Nascar created this situation all on their own.

Yea, I saw the list of the drivers in the group. It still shows that they agree with what Tony said.

NASCAR, said, the driver's group could not pay the fine and that Tony had to write the check to them. Hey, guys just give the money to Tony and let him write the check, but at this point the violation should be rescinded, he made the statements Thursday and NASCAR changes things to what he said on Monday?

I am hoping the just drop the fine since they did exactly what he was suggesting.
