Ah man my heart goes out to you guys. Prayers forthcomming. When does it all end? It doesn't. We have lost my wifes sister to the C word a few years ago. She was given last rights, then recovered for a year and eventually lost her. Mom passed last August and Dad passed away just this past April. Buried a good pal Friday, again the C word. They took his arm 2 years ago and that C thing came back. I'm afraid to look at the newspaper every morning to see who's gone. We are about that age.

Yep that's about the age it all started with me losing friends and friends that were co-workers Heinz.

We all need to be more diligent at seeing our Doc's regularly and heeding the signs. A very close pal and former team mate died of the C word 2 years ago. We were helping him at his cabin here unfreezing lines. Kevin had plumber butt of course and I saw a 2" round ugly dark spot above his arse cheek. I mentioned he had better get it checked, he flipped out on me. 2 years latter he was dead of Cancer, 55 years old. That thing was 5" long and malignant. If he had it checked out as soon as he saw it would he be alive today? Another close friend was supposed to have a colonoscopy every 5 years for Colon Cancer screening. She waited 8 years and they have found Colon Cancer. She's recovering from a very invasive surgery she had a month ago. Hopefully they got it all but she is suffering as the breast to belly incision won't close and she got an infection, we still don't know what the prognosis is, 58 years old. A buddy, an Ironworker got a sore throat at work that wouldn't go away, I'll cut to the chase. Throat Cancer, now speaks with one of those things he holds to his neck. 2 years of Chemo and Radiation and removed his Larynx. 56 years old. Another pal of ours is doing well after his Colon Cancer surgery and a year and more of Chemo and Radiation, he is 73. All 4 of these people were all in the same group of friends out where we live. So that's 5 of us in our small group including me.

We don't have a best before date and are responsible for our own well being as Cancer knows no age, young or old. Men are the worse for taking care of ourselves. I am off for my annual Cystoscopy this afternoon. Cancer free 8 years this November. Within a few minutes of my Surgeon looking at my Bladder through his camera that is inserted where nothing should be ever be inserted, the urethra, I will know if it's still all good. And of course I didn't go for my Colon inspection when I should have, 3 years behind, maybe more. I booked when Fay found out she had Colon Cancer. F#$k Cancer!

Had the scope this afternoon and got the "all clear, see you next year." If there can be a good cystoscopy I had one today. Not as much pain as some and no bleeding, I could actually watch the monitor for only the second time. The prostrate is good to go as well. The 1st few times passing water wasn't too bad either. I had a good day.

You are so right Heinz. When I was a kid if the Doc said "You have Cancer" it was a death sentence for may. No cure for many cancers.

I have a good one. When I went in for a 2 for 1 special as my Doc says. Colonoscopy and Endoscopy at the same time. When I was laying there before I went to sleep I asked him to do me a favor, he asked what? I said can you do the endoscopy 1st because the last time I woke up I had a terrible taste in my mouth. The whole room howled.
