Man,

I am a pretty tough guy, went through a few wars, got shot by a jerk in Iraq, but had a message waiting for me when I returned from work that I have been dreading, Hospice has taken my father back into a treatment facility and told my wife today, that my Father, only has a few days to live, he is very disorientated and in pain, with way to much fluid being retained. They said to prepare because he won't be here much longer.

I have know for quite some time that he is ill, but to have it actually voiced to you that a man you have admired for your whole life, will not be with us much longer is a hard blow to take. They stated at this point in time the only thing they can really do is treat him for pain and make sure he is as comfortable as possible. So I am hanging my head is deep sorrow. No matter how tough you think you are, it is still hard when things like this happen.

I love him dearly and will miss him with all of my heart.

Thanks for reading.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Dave. Even though we expect to outlive our parents, it is still so, so hard when we lose them.

Prayers to you and your family Dave .... My father passed slowly in Hospice care . It was hard watching a man that always seemed so proud and strong slowly slip from us ... Take comfort in knowing the he will soon be with god and have no pain .

Prayers are coming your way to you and your family. Don't dwell or how he is doing now, but the good times you both shared through out your lives. God has plans for him and you when the time comes.

My most sincere condolences, and all prayers and best wishes to you and your family. I have yet to experience this loss, and dread it.

Dave, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I will say this though. … From what I know of you, YOU are your Dad's greatest accomplishment, and you will carry his vision forward. I would have liked to have known such a man much better. :)

Thoughts and prayers heading your way. Just last night I was doing some work at the house and my Dad was still helping me out from where his spirit is now. He will always be with you.

I feel your pain, Dave. My 34 year old daughter went to hospice a couple days ago. Cancer has overtaken her. She is the love of my life. Many thoughts and prayers for you and family.

Just saw this Dave. Not sure what to say. Your hurting will be the first step in healing. Time heals pain. It's very tough now, but you will remember the good times and those thoughts will overtake the ones you're feelling now. Sending prayers your way....
