Bummer the shelter I had over my boat collapsed in December, and I am just now able to dig in and see what damage was done, looks like it collapsed the right side hull and top...I didn't pay much for this boat, but I was hoping to go fishing as soon as the lakes melted out..looks like plans are on hold again this summer, because I just took a job that will keep me on the road from July 1st to August 31st this year. Well at least I can find another cheap hull, I have a trailer and a brand new steering system to hook up the 40 horse Evinrude!

A few words HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Home owners insurance don't cover Costco temp garages, it is also cost prohibitive for anything other than the home where I live, I live in the middle of the woods, in a cedar sided house with a detached ceder sided garage, my deductible is $1000 and this is a 1960 boat with a 1961 motor on it, somehow that does not seem to be a cost effective solution! It took me almost 3 years to find a company that would write a policy on my place that I could actually afford! Most policies wrote in this area do not cover what they consider out buildings, you have to purchase separate policies for those and as I said, they don't cover temp shelters..I am not all that bummed, the gun I traded for this boat was only worth $100.00

Just to add, I am over 20 miles from the closest volunteer fire dept on a dirt road..ain't happening, if I have a fire, its going to be a helo drop to get enough water here to put a fire out. We had a fire start about a 1/2 mile from the house a couple of years ago, and that is how they put it out!

My total snow fall this year was just shy of 250" nope, don't seem to be a cost effective way to go!
