Time for a new update, I was on the way home this evening and I spy a boat on the side of my road up to the house and I am looking real hard, it looked like a Starcraft, so I stop and the owner comes out....Turns out is is a 1973 Starcraft 16 Foot Super Sport, 50 horse Evinrude that runs like new, all new steering, glass is good, good floor and transom, just a nice boat, only needs seats.

So I am thinking, darnit I have two boats sitting in the yard right now, if this one follows me home, the Admiral might not be real happy!

So as I am walking away, thinking I have been looking for this boat for the last ten years and hear it is!

As I open the door to the truck, the guy says, what if I give you the boat, as well as the motor and just keep the trailer, for $497.00 do you think you would be interested? He tells me, he just got the title on it Monday and it is signed off and ready to go.

I thought, well, I can sleep on the sofa for a few days! So I bought it, now just to do some painting and pick up some new seats and I am good to go..

Now I have 3 boats in the yard!

:D

Okay, a few pics, it has been one of those really good days and one with lows, bought the boat and then the front coil spring broke on the wifes car, so at least the day ended on a high note, new boat!

She looks a lot better than the doghouse, MT.

Very solid appearing, much better than that busted spring.

Is all the paint removed?

GA, no paint on the hull, there is a cream colored paint on the top where the windsheild and such sit, but I can't find any signs of paint on the hull, I will probably do the Starcraft Blue upper and stay with aluminum clear coated on the botton, like they have done a lot of their newer boats, or I might go with white on the bottom. What I am really thrilled with, is I can throw a couple of seats in it and a battery and be out on the lake, it is really a solid boat.

Yup, rated for 85hp, has the factory installed Evinrude 50 and all the controls on it right now, which for the wife and I will be fine. I looked under the carpet in it and the floor is 100% solid as is the transom, so as soon as I find seats and install, it will be good to go fishing, I will be doing pedalstal seats as well with swivels. I don't like the back to backs either, they fall apart!

Just workng on getting it off the trailer and blocked up so I can take the guys trailer back to him.
