Did you all know that the new Starcraft boats are a welded hull????????????????????? Seen one at the Seattle boat show today. Also the new Smoker Craft is also a welded hull.
Boy a welded starcraft, I wonder if they are using thicker hulls.
Out of my budget to buy a new starcraft.
Welded with a thin hull may not be better.
I bet they figured they needed to compete with the northrivers and other welded boats.
That was the reasoning the dealer stated. Compete with the prefered mfg. I would think the material will be heaver as the difficulty to weld the lighter material. Don't know ,it is so easy to use Robot welders once you are set up.
I don't think that I would want a welded hull due to mostly fishing rough water.I would think that a rivited haul would give a bit of added flex.If welds flex they crack!My.02
I think it's a separate line. I saw one at a local boat show as well. It said T_____ something or other by Starcraft. Gotta say I wasn't impressed with the fit/finish of the interior.
Could have been there Monarc line and the dealer sales fellow had them mixed up .I to went deeper into the web site and they certianly show a rivited boat. WHEW . If they wish to enter the river boats they just might use a welded hull and a flater bottem.
