weird problem 7.4 bravo II

On a whole the boat runs great. It starts easily,Idles well,throttles up very good with no flat spots. However after 5 or so minutes on plane the motor misses. What I mean is its like you quickly shut the key off and just as quickly turn in back on and the motor keeps running right on down the lake.90% of the time it does this only when running at cruising speed, but I have expierienced it at idle as well.One other thing I forgot to mention is that the tach is slow to respond in this situation. Its almost like it kinda floats slowly at about 2000 rpm,but then goes back to acting normal..
The water filter has about 5 hrs on it and the boat was put up last fall with a full fresh tank of fuel (80 gallons)and fuel stabilizer.
Does this sound like a water/fuel problems or an ignition problem (maybe the main wire harnes huble connector? Any advice would be great.

yesterday while we was testing my did something like yours since i knew everything in mine was new i went looking, i found at the swicth the ignition wire was loose and vibrating and killing engine just for a sec, then start running again, dont know if it will help but i am going to rewire with new ends on mine
