I have a 1989 Citation Caprice cuddy, 19.5' with an OMC Cobra I/O. The info plate in the boat is worn down and I can't tell the weight. Any suggestions / thoughts on the weight of the boat or how to find out?

Also, how can I determine the weight rating of my trailer? I have a single axle, used trailer in pretty good condition, but it has been painted and I can't find any markings to tell me what the maximum capacity is.

Any thoughts?

Re: Weights and capacities

For boat weight, go to the I/O forum. You'll get a quicker and more accurate response over there. As for the trailer, check the load rating on the sidewall of the tires. Multiply that number by two. Provided the tires have not been downgraded over time, that will be the maximum weight of the trailer, the boat, and anything you put in it including adult beverages, gear and fuel. Of course the best way to determine the weight is to pull onto any public scale and weigh the rig.

Your boat weighs around 2500 Lbs or so with nothing in it. Add 6 pounds/gallon for fuel and other things plus trailer weight.
