My wife and I had to go to Pensacola a lil while back for business and vowed to return and soon. What we decided on was to trailer the boat to Pensacola, launch from there, and then cruise on the ICW to the Destin area. The distance between the two is roughly 40 (ish) miles, but all in protected waters.
My truck that I use for most of the boat pulling is a '92 that I picked up on the cheap. It's as reliable as it may appear to be ugly, but everything in the interior has been refurbished, fixed...etc. Really all that's needed is fresh paint of one color on the outside. Oh, the A/C works great too!
After a 180 (one way) mile ride there, we were off in the water and on our way. I had choses a marina across the bay in Shalimar to keep our boat as there was a hotel nearby and they let us use their "courtesy car" Let's just say it ran, got us back and forth and call it at that. But hey, at least they let us use something, eh??
All tied up in it's slip:
Saw a few dolphins but this is the only time I was able to get a picture:
Our view from the table in the resturaunt:
There were two different people renting these. They get their water pumped to the "thing" from a jetski. $95.00 for 25min. Seemed rather pricey to me, but needless to say they stole the show and when in use, everyone had to stop what they were doing to watch. Google flyboard to learn more.
