Back in the late 90's I watched as a Powerstroke dropped thru the ice. There was no dramatic "Splash", it went in slow and easy.

That used to happen quite a bit around here until the local police did a couple of news shows stating that insurance companies won't cover your vehicle when it's on the ice.

Luckily my water never gets hard enough to drive on!! We're headed out this weekend for some fun on the local lakes since it's supposed to nice and warm.

Was at Houghton Lake,Houghton Lake,Mi. Wanting to check the ice so I could fish.I walked out about 15 ft.and stopped.The ice was too thin to walk on.
So I turned around and started walking back in and about then a snowmobile with 3 people went by and they slowed down for some reason ans the ice started cracking and the driver gave it some gas and the extra pressure was too much and it went down through the ice. Luckily it was only 3 ft.deep.But deep enough the snowmobile was under water.
I was thinking there was snow everywhere.Why would this guy risk his family and a $6000 snow machine.STUPID!!!!!!!!!

When I was a kid we used to spend a lot of time driving on the ice. Do you know that it is difficult to get a (unsafe at any speed) Corvair do more than one revolution when you spin it out, but a model A ford will spin like a top? It's a good substitution when the water is to hard to boat on. You have to have something to do during a Minnesota Winter.

The only "ice fishing" I will ever do will be "fishing" for another cold one in the bottom of the cooler

Vegas used to do pretty good also. Kinda harry when you hit a pressure crack sideways though.
