Website with Towing Capacities?

Some time in the past I've seen a link to a website which had all the current 2004 vehicles and their towing capacities on one (or maybe a few) page(s). I'm shopping a new vehicle and what to have that nice little sheet in front of me for boat towing capacity. Anyone remember what the site is? Thanks.

Very interesting. According to the website the truck in my garage doesn't exist. :(

Re: Website with Towing Capacities?

That's the trouble with many publications. They are not specific enough. Most manufactures web sites (GM, Ford, Dodge, and the Imports) all list towing capacities and what equipment must be installed to achieve those ratings. Obivously a Chevy 1500 work truck with a V6 will not have the same tow rating as the same truck with a V8. The most overlooked thing when buying a tow vehicle is the axle ratio. The standard axle ratio on any vehicle is selected by the manufacturer to achieve the best fuel economy. That ratio is not acceptable for towing anything other than a very light load. Depending on the load, you may opt for a heavy duty cooling system and transmission cooler.
