This occurs on my XP PC on Drudge. Currently at the top of the middle column is a box that contains a Drudge Poll on the *******can Debate. It allows you to vote or to view the results. Once you vote all you can do is view.

The problem is, on my PC, that box is blank. I can see nothing and clicking anywhere around in the box does nothing. The only reason why I know the contents of the box is because Mrs B had Drudge open on her Win 7 laptop. All of the contents in the box were visible and active.

Any ideas what is going on? I've seen these empty display boxes before but never thought to look at the page on another computer.

What browser are you using? MS will not let the newer versions of IE to be installed on XP. Try switching to Chrome which google is still supporting under XP.

You have Java installed and does your browser have Java enabled in its security settings?

Try installing Java and see if that helps.

I went and looked at ad-ons in Firefox. Java Platform SE6U31 is there but tagged to "ask to activate" If you drop the menu box 'enable' is grayed out. Apparently Java has not been updated since April 2012. When you click on update it takes you to a firefox page that tells you that firefox does not like Java.

I will check the ad-ons on the win7 laptop and see what it has for Java.

It may be something else. It's the first thing that popped into my head!

I think you were spot on. Nobody supports XP any longer, I uninstalled all Java stuff and will try to download the latest version. However I have seen information that the latest versions of Java may or may not work with XP.
