weak pee hole v-4 johnson

I HAVE A 90 115 JOHNSON V4. THE MOTOR HAS A WEAK STEAM OF WATER COMING OUT OF PEE HOLE NO MATER WHAT THE RPM IS.I PROCEEDED TO CHANGE THE IMPELLAR ,AND GOT NO IMPROVMENT AT ALL.WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT,THE PEE HOLE LINE IS NOT STOPPED UP.I HAVE A 90 EVINRUDE SAME YEAR AND IT HAS A VERY STRONG STREAM OUT THE PEE HOLE. PLEASE HELP :confused:

I'd check the water pump housing and the plate it bolts to and make sure they aren't worn. Also, make sure the shaft key is good.

make sure impeller is installed corect.and verify intake is clear.

Hey Boatright,<br />Is the motor overheating? If not, I wouldn't be too worried about it. A lot of things can cause a weak stream. Try blowing compressed air up through the hole while running the motor on "ears" & often it will clear it up.<br />Good luck,<br />Backlash

Did you check the bypass valve when you changed the impeller? I'm not familiar with Johnsons, but my 1989 Yamaha had a similar problem. When I changed the bypass valve and spring, the stream of water coming out the pee-hole improved greatly. I would assume that Johnsons have this bypass valve as well.
