We bought a 1985 or so Hurricane deck boat. We don't know anything about the boat except that it runs well. It needs a boot and that is all we are sure of so far. Our question is what is it worth? What year is it? and general comments. <br /><br />On the transom starboard is the moulded hull number<br />GDYL30621485<br /><br />Outdrive model # 983487<br /> serial# J343962<br />Thanks for any information!

Hey Small<br />You def have an 85, by the Hull ID Number... contact Godfrey Hurricane the mfr in Elkhart IND, give them the HIN, and they can tell you where the boat came from. They were helpful to me when I bought a used 93 last year. I hope my new one holds up like the old one did!<br />Mary

Sounds like you probably have a series 400 or 800 OMC outdrive. I think you can still get boots from a Johnson or Evinrude dealer.
