Hey all. First off, i want to thank everyone for all the usefull information on this board. I've been following it for a little over a year now and it's been real helpfull in so many ways. I purcahsed an 84' Laser 18' Laser bass boat about 2 years ago and it's been great to me. I just pulled the Merc 150 off, cleaned her up and ready to put it back on (see earlie post
) but...I thought (bad move)about one thing before i did that...Since i bought her, she's porpoised a bunch and also kind of sluggish out of the hole. I've adjusted the motor height and added a tail to the Merc which helped out some but this is what i'm thinking...This boat, before i bought it, was run up on something and put a hole in the hull. It was fixed properly, from the inside and i've never had a problem with it so i'm not concerned about it but...someone once mentioned to me that if the foam the factory shot into the back was water logged, the added weight could make it sluggish to get her out of the water and on plane (of course) and that it could also cause my porpoising. Soooo...i figured since i had the motor off i should try to check this, but i really dont know a way. Tell you the truth, i don't even know if there IS foam other than the two blocks i can see under the back hatch on both sides near the batteries. Anyway, sorry this is long winded but as you can tell, i'm a bit in the dark about this. Thanks so much for any help.

-Jersey
