I posted a while back of my starter rope breaking in a short period of time. One person suggested to take the rope guide and check it for a burr/rough section, sure as shootin there was so a couple of passes with my chainsaw file, then some coiled 100 grit paper then some 220 then finished to a mirror like shine with my dremel and a felt cone.

One guy walking past my house stopped to see what I was doing with my o/b cowl off,I told him the rope ...... He said to add a wax to the starter rope,he did that on some of his old pull cord equip .

My question is when I do the starter rope should I coat it in a wax to help releive some of the friction?
bees wax?
paraffin?
candle?
silicon spray?

any ideas?
