wax questions

I have a 2001 campion 20 footer I just picked up. IT was baught new in 2002. I am looking at getting it ready to put it in the water.<br /><br />Should I put a fresh coat of wax on it... I have a buffer but not sure what type of wax to use.<br /><br />Should I wax the bottom as well... it has new bottom paint.<br /><br />what should I put on the outdrive..<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Doug Lear

are you talking about an antifoulant paint, for leaving in water for long intervals? if so i dont think you can wax that type of paint.

I've been very pleased with the performance I have gotten from Mothers pure carnuba. It's a hard wax to buff out, but it put a nice long lasting shine on the 268 and it's an 87. Thanks to Mothers waxing her this spring will be a breeze.<br />Good Luck

you said something about waxing the pad. everything i've read says don't wax the pad. i sanded the pad on my 19' vision with 400 grit and it added about 2 mph. there is a lot of info on this at bassboatcentral.com
