Re: waverunner question

If no one answers your question here you might try posting it on greenhulk.net. It's a forum dedicated to jet skiing. Tons of very knowledgeable guys/gals.

Re: waverunner question

pwctoday.com is the place to ask.

As far as I remember the jet pump bolts rght up through the hull. The driveshaft comes out the back of the engine with a pto under a plastic cover and then back to the pump. I think the seal between the pump and hull is just lined wtih silicone. Trying to remember, I had a 93 and 95. post in the seadoo section of pwc today and you'll get an answer quickly.

Re: waverunner question

it isn't a bushing it is a carrier bearing and seals, people don't grease the things and they lock up,,, some even rip the hull where they mount the rubber hose that holds the carrier in place,, there are aftermarket companies that make a sleeve for the hull if yours is damaged and there is a hose ,2 clamps and the bearing and seals in a unit or you can replace them in the housing. you will need to remove the jet pump to remove the driveshaft in order to replace those.

Re: waverunner question

that's it,, take yours apart and see what you need to replace,, if the housing is not all corroded and the hose is still good all you need is the seals and bearing

Re: waverunner question

once you fix it remember to grease it occasionally , that is where the problem comes in,, it is actually a good system if people remember to give it a little grease once in a while.

Re: waverunner question

i just recently took a quick look at the waerunner and decided to just replace the bearing carrier seals and everything but i am confused on where it actually goes. i ordered a book but not here yet. where the shaft goes through the waverunner, does the carrier and seals hook on to that as it looks like something should go there. the way i looked at it seamed that where the shaft comes through has to be glassed in . if u have any information that will be helpfull thanks

Re: waverunner question

there should be a lip for the hose to be clamped on to and the carrier clamps on to the other end of the hose, the drive shaft goes through the seals and bearing to the pump. as I mentioned earlier often the lip that the hose clamps to gets ripped off and an insert has to be placed on the hole to repair the problem.
