this just hit the news here in the northwest for a idiot on the water and proved fatal:
(if ok with webmaster to post)

Saturday, March 13, 2004

Boater sentenced in fatal crash

SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF

A Seattle man was sentenced to nearly two years in prison yesterday in a late-night boating accident that left one man dead and another injured.

Scott Paul Hendrickson, 41, pleaded guilty to a charge of homicide by watercraft in January. Police say he was drunk and speeding through the Lake Washington Ship Canal on Aug. 2, 2001, and had turned off the boat's running lights to keep harbor officers from seeing him.

The 18-foot Boston Whaler crashed into the end of a wooden sea wall near Fishermen's Terminal and kept going, throwing Hendrickson and David C. Holmes overboard. Holmes, 39, was killed. Another man was forced to jump from the out-of-control boat, breaking both legs and suffering internal injuries, according to court documents.

dude should not have been out on the water at all.

Re: waterway accident

Nope, killed a guy and he only gets two years, I just love the justice system sometime. On the other hand, those guys WERE in his boat willingly right?
