Hey guys me and my dad recently bought a 1989 regal medallion 185 with a 3.7 mercruiser and a 3.0 mercruiser outdrive. We hooked it up to the hose today to run the engine and when we turned on the water water started coming out by those two little hoses up by the transom. Is that normal?

Tee 3.7 is a inline fresh water cooled motor with a heat exchanger with the spark plugs on the port side of the motor .The exaust manifold is also on the same side ,the intake manifold is on the STBD side
The 3.0 engine is a inline 4 cylinder with sparkplugs on the STBD side and intake/exaust manifold on the port side
The drive should be a Alpha 1
Where are the hoses located, pics are very helpful or did you mean "holes"

I tried to upload a picture but I wouldn't let me. Maybe it's because I'm on my iPhone. But here's a picture o looked up the water is coming out of the opening between right above those two hoses are if that makes sense. I'll try to upload a picture of my actual sterndrive later

Looks like that link just goes to photobucket home page.

There are idle relief ports at bottom of the transom shield, a lot of raw water exits there when just running on the muffs.

Those holes are called "idle relief ports" and water does exit there also
