does it seem possible to search for trapped water under the flooring in a 29 ft. boat. This aquasport 290 seems to sit off to the right when in slip and the port prop comes out of water very easy in 3ft seas. Also notice boat doesnt lift any on acceleration in front and never requires any tab.Bow splash is always up front. It has a bilge pump and a forward pump, both working. When driving it also wants to go right all the time. It is a 290 sport fisher with tower and twin 454s. I was thinking about a plumbers septic line inspection tool. It is being removed from the slip oct 15 for the season and i would like to find this problem before its out of the water. Any ideas r appreciated.I have checked under the front cushions but not sure if that is the very bottom of boat or not. Seems to be. Would the forward bilge in the floor also be the very bottom. i would think so.

you may need to wait until you are on the hard to look.

a FLIR camera helps, especially in the mornings

the Aquasport forum would be a good source. however you may be chasing leaking live-well plumbing or other issues which would require the boat to be on the hard.

i was just thinking that the smaller leaks would be hard to find without the weight of the boat in the water.

Running flat (no bow lift) and requiring no tab to get on plane is a virtue, not a fault.

New to you boat?

I have never run a boat that didn't "lean" a bit one way or another. The tower, and it's high center of gravity, will only amplifier any weigh distributions issues the boat may have.

Not sure what you mean by bow splash? Are you plowing the bow at normal running angle?

What prop are you running? Prop selection can make all the difference in the world when it comes to running angle and running in slop

yes,new to me. always owned sterndrive before. someone at the marina mentioned near empty fuel tanks, empty fresh water tank, and any other tanks empty might be y it sits high in back.(around 3 inches)I checked gear and it was way heavy on the starboard side. By bow splash i mean the water spraying out the sides. Very wet ride in 3 footers.Maybe normal for those. I dont use the tower so maybe i should do away with it. Always have to time the tide with the harbor bridge. They will open it but its a pain. Not sure about the props until i get it out end of the month. I have found that running with the bow up a bit is better fuel economy.Maybe inboards dont lift the bow like sterndrives do.?

its a fishing boat, the tower will be a benefit once you start using it.

have you joined the Aquasport forum yet.?
