Water Temperature Sender Question - Which one to use?

There are 2 parts listed for the water temperature sender for my engine.

P/N: 806490T
WATER TEMPERATURE SENDER (3/8-18)

P/N: 49734
WATER TEMPERATURE SENDER (DUAL)

I installed the "DUAL" one thinking it looked "more" like the one that came out of the thermostat housing. However, neither of them looked exactly the OEM one that came out of the housing. (The original one broke)

I have 2 wires that connect to the temp sender, so I thought the DUAL one might be the better choice.

Now, I'm wondering if I installed the wrong sensor, if that might be leading to my temp alarm going off. Any thoughts?

I'm going to go through the switches and disconnect the wires to see if I can isolate where the alarm is coming from but I really would like some input on the temp sender.

Thanks in advance!

Why not try the other sender first to see what happens.Charlie

Well, now I cannot get the alarm to go off. Sigh. Maybe its not the temp alarm.

The "Dual" one is typically for boats with dual helms (flybridge) as there are 2 gauges then, your sender probably does not the impedance of the gauge now.

Well, I switched the senders just to be safe.

Now I have P/N: 806490T installed.

Thanks
