Seaswirl striper W/A with 2003 115 2 stroke Yam. I wouldn't mind seing a temperature gauge on the dash instead of just an alarm that tells you when the engines already hot. What do you think-worth it- doable -expensive-pain in butt - none of the above ?

Re: Water temp gauge

A water pressure guage would be my first choice. One of the most useful guages you can install. Very easy installation.

The water pressure gauge tells you that the water is being pumped but it still can't tell you the engine is hot. A temp gauge in combination with the pressure gauge covers all bases.

Re: Water temp gauge

Thanks UP I was thinking the same thing. Seems to me the important thing is wether or not the engines hot not so much the pressure.I've got the telltale to confirm that. So back to my question-I've got digital Yammie gauges- can I get and install digital Yammie temp. gauge without alot of trouble-Is it doable? Thanks Mike

No Mike There is no such thing as Yamaha digital water temp gauges so you will have to use analog. They are around 100 clams for unit and sender and are easy to install. Oh ok thanks Mike Mike

Re: Water temp gauge

My preference for the pressure guage is based on being able to detect and prevent the problem of overheating by monitoring the water input. The tale tell will not do this. In fact you are not likely to even be able to see it while up running when most problems occur.
