Water Temp Gauge Sender

I'm hooking up a Teleflex Outboard Water Temp gauge on my 1995 225 Hp Evinrude and there is a hole for the sender on each bank near the thermostat.

I already have a water pressure gauge and I realize this won't truly be in the water but figure it will give me a little better of an idea if something is going wrong.

I only want to hook up 1 sender so would one side be better than the other?

Really does matter much. Make sure to use something to aid heat transfer in the hole before you install. Even Crisco or something similar will work fine.

Re: Water Temp Gauge Sender

Just finished install. I'm a night person.

I used Radio Shack Thermal Compound in the whole past where the threads are so I get a good heat transfer yet still make good metal to metal contact for the threads.

Going for test ride later today to check gauge performance.
