My children are bugging me to take them water skiing and/or tubing. I have a 16' Carolina Skiff V-Series which I use primarily for fishing, snorkeling and island hopping on the Intracoastal Waterway. My engine is only a 25 HP 2 cycle Johnson which is adequate for my purposes. Question, does it have enough power to ski or to pull one of those tubes? They're 13 & 11 years old and weigh less than 100 lbs.

At there weight it could pull them on skis BUT its a had way to learn :) as its just barely enough power

A small tube with one person should work as they wont get tired from the slow start

tommays

Get a really low pitched prop. That is going to be taxing on the skiier.

Should have no problems with the tube (single rider) but the skier may need to hold their breath for awhile before you can pull them out of the water.

Thanks for the info. I've concluded that tubing will be the way to go. I'll probably get one at Boater's World, I think Airhead is the number #1 brand now. Either get a 1 person or one that will hold 1 or 2.
