First time winterizing a boat. Does the water seperating fuel filter hold some water and if so run the risk of freezing and damage?? The boat has only 25 hours on it and was hoping to get away without changing filter this winter.
Thanks, Greg

no but it will rust out. if you dont damage the seal, remove it dump it in a container for inspection and reinstall it using engine oil on the rubber seal.

For the price of a filter, why take the chance of it sealing. Install a new one.
While the engine may only have 25 hours on it, I know of several boats that take years to get that many hours.
