Water separator?

How important is this item in preventing engine problems? I am think about installing one. What will it actually prevent down the road in potential problems?.........L

Depends on the size fuel tank you have. If you are using portable tanks or constantly re-filling your inboard tank I would save the $$$.<br /><br />If you were running a huge tank and experiencing water problems I would do it.<br /><br />Bob

Thanks Bob! also what real damage happens in any scenarios where water/gas does get into the outboard?...........L
