water separator

Hello,

In my on going quest to make my boat better I'm trying to install a water separator. My problem is I don't have the room to mount it, except at the front of the rear cargo box. The fuel tank and batteries are in there but I will have to run another 5-7 feet of fuel line to reach the mounting location. Does anyone see this being a problem? Also I will have to run the new fuel line right past a battery, what are the opinions on that? Maybe I'm just paranoid but running a gas line right next to a battery seems a little dangerous.

Thanks as always

Re: water separator

battery should be in a battery box, then no problem. can you mount it in the splash well? that is my prefer mount place.

Re: water separator

The extra fuel line is not an issue. Make sure you mount the water seperator upright, so gravity can do it's job seperating out the water. If you can get a battery box around the battery, it is a good idea. If not, make sure the battery is held in place securely.

I stuck my WS on a plywood reinforcing piece under the splashwell, but there are many choices.

Re: water separator

Just had two examples of filter fitting where the cannister was not tightened well enough. They required a filter wrench. Without that the bulbs were just sucking air.
