Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I tried to do a search, but got no results. The search was kind enough to ask me if I meant to be searching for "water spout".
I need to add a water separator to my fuel system. Boat is a 2000 1952 Bayliner Capri, 3.0 L, Alpha 1 Gen 2, Don't have the engine serial # handy, as I am at work, but will try to post it when I get home. Fuel line is a 3/8 id.
It looks like I have some room to work with between the tank outlet and the fuel pump, but not an excessive amount. Boat is used about 70% saltwater.
I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a good separator, and any tips for installation. I'll try to get all my questions on here in one shot. If I understand correctly from what I have read, the filter should be a metal, not glass, and the inlet and outlet should be the same level or lower then the fuel pump inlet. What type of filter head would be good, SS, alum, Plastic? Which models do a good job, but aren't too expensive to change filters? I'm probably looking to order online, as I have very limited access to parts. A couple of models I looked at online had 2 inlet and outlet ports, I am assuming for dual tanks, twin engines? Could a person use the extra outlet port for a kicker, or is that not a good idea?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Water Separator

Finding a place to put it is allways the hard part :)

most have 2 in holes and 2 out holes to make it easy to connect and you just put the plugs in the holes you dont need

You have to use marine fuel hose for and inboard which should be type A1 to make the connections
