Water separator installation

Hello,

Well I have my water separator installed. I had to put it back by the gas tank because I didn?t have room in the splashwell, I also had to run about 5 more feet of gas line both to the engine and from the tank. I tried to make sure everything was working, after filling the filter with gas I was able to siphon it out from the tank after taking the connector off the end of the line. However when I tilted the line up above the tank the gas stopped. I know this is normal when siphoning but will the fuel pump be able to pump the gas through the extra line with out a problem? Now I?m just waiting on the VRO tank and I think I?m done!

Thanks again.

Guys, I think that additional 5 feets of line is too much. There is along way to run for the gas, How much line did you have from the gas tank up to the engine?

Re: Water separator installation

the chief issue is not so much the length of the fuel line, but the rise from the level of gas in the tank to the level of the end of the fuel line. Ups and downs in between largely cancel each other out, once the line is primed. Your setup sounds fine to me.
