Water pump tube coupler

Took the lower off my Gen one Alpha one drive to replace the impeller, and discovered that the plastic coupler on the water tube was melted. Does anyone know the part number for this? It didn't come in my replacement kit, and I couldn't find it in the Merc catalog. Drive serial is 0C684712. Thanks

It does come in the Merc impeller kit, so you might have a non-genuine kit, like Sierra or Good Luck Marine....

Merc part number for it is 23-29804.... Word of caution. If that tube is melted, it's because of a lack of water, and you need to investigate to see what other things got burnt up at the same time, like exhaust shutters and the water pocket cover....

It came in the sierra kits I used about 9 and 6 years ago.

Thanks Chris. After reading this that part actually is in my kit, however I did look into the drive and the water pocket cover looks a little crisp on one side. I will have a look at the shutters as well. Any ideas on a cause? The impeller looked to be in good shape.

I would be checking the gasket for a leak. 99% of the time even a slight melt on those covers will have them leaking....

Cause? Ask me one on sport... Any one of a dozen reasons.
