water pump seal upgrade kit

have heard of a kit that stops the water pump seal from leaking and ruining the cam on merc 470 170 185 488 224cid 3.7 ltr once and for all. Anyone have any info on just who sells this upgrade and how to order it? Merc dealers dont seem to know about it see a old post from a chiefmike58 that refers to it.

Any Mercruiser dealer should have the repair kit.I haven't heard about a permanent fix kit.The cam was made of too soft a material where the seal rode.The kit has a bushing that fits over the cam and a new resized seal.Jerry
