I have a 1989 VIP vision with OMC Cobra Outboard. The engine starts but then overheats & has no power once I am out on the lake. I was told it was probably a bad water pump. How difficult is it to replace a water pump? Can a novice do it?
Yes I have an I/O 1989 OMC Cobra Stern drive engine. When I run it at low speeds it is fine but it is overheating the minute I try to go at higher speeds. I assume the water pump is the problem?
