Well, I jumped in with both feet tonight and changed my first outboard water pump. I have a 1990 50hp Force. The job was easier than expected and the parts were right. I took it to the lake tonight and the difference in the amount of water coming out of the rear of the engine was enourmous!

If you need any Force parts, check out my buddy Walt @ marineparts.com. He looked up a few small parts that nobody in my area would bother with (I'm in NC and he is in Florida). I have bought a starter and my water pump kit from him also and received excellent service and quick delivery.

Thanks for all the posts here at IBoats. Reading some of these have given me the guts to go ahead and work on my own boat (my first).

Say what you want about Force engines. They are easy to work on and mine runs like a top. I needed a low budget package, and that's what I got. I can live with that.

Chris
