Water Pump Question

I have a 2017 Mercury 150 EFI that I just replaced the water pump impeller/gaskets. I didn't replace the housing. When I tested on muffs in my driveway I had a good strong stream but I also had water coming out of the weep holes at the top of the lower unit (see picture). Is this normal when on muffs? I guess I have never paid much attention in the past, but now that I performed maintenance I am looking a little closer. Is this a sign that water is leaking outside of the water pump housing? Or is this normal and I just didn't notice before.

thanks in advance

Here is a pic from when I dropped the lower unit. You can see the weep hold I’m referring to on the left and right sides. Next to the mounting bolts for the water pump housing.

Using muffs wont test the water pump, as pressure from the hose is forcing water thru the system. Only way to really test your repair is in the water or test tank !!
