I just rebuilt my water pump. This was my last major job.( Rebuilt the carbs, changed plugs, lubed lower end, rebuilt fuel pump, used new fuel lines and tank) The motor had sat up for around 2 years. Not my fault, just got it from my father-in-law. How fast should the water flow from the water holes when the engine is started. I have had trouble with this. I think it might be my POS water ears i am using. i am not going to run it again until I get a tank. I just find it odd that no water flowed from it.

Thanks,
Rob the Newbie

1985 Force 85 hp

Re: Water Pump Question

The water tube was seated properly when I reinstalled the lower end. I was very careful about that, thanks to this mesage board. I think the tube must be clogged. Maybe with sand or maybe a dirt dabbers nest.....I will check it out tomorrow. By the looks of the motor it has never been in salt water. Everything has very little corrosion on it.
