Water pump pressure problems on Yamaha 1996 C115

I was recently having a low water pressure reading (8psi) on my water pressure guage. I had the water pump replaced and the problem persisted. I then changed the thermostats and cleaned the water pressure check-valve myself and pressure is now up to 22 PSI. I found out that when the repair shop replaced the water pump they used Yamaha part 6N6-W0078-02-00 (water pump repair kit) instead of the one listed for the 1996 C115 which is 6N6-W0078-00-00. It seems the 6N6-W0078-02-00 kit is listed for other engines including 2002 115/130-2 stroke and 2000,2001 115-4 stroke. Can anyone tell me if the part they used is valid for the engine that I have. I am trying to find out before calling them and balling them out. The only thing I have found bad about owning a Yamaha is the lack of competent and reliable repair shops.

Thanks for the response Bill. Currently the 02-00 waterpump is in the engine. I placed a call to the service manager of the repair shop today and gave it to him pretty good. They are supposed to be checking for me about that part (02-00) being on my engine. I did fix the original problem with<br />the thermostats and water pressure check valve change.
