water pump NS 3.5B

Hi there
I am trying to remove the lower unit on my ns3.5b so I can change the water pump.
I removed the 2 bolts under the cavitation plate
And the unit dropped about 2 inch and that's it!

Am I missing a bolt somewhere or do I need to pull it harder?

Does it matter if you try to pull the lower unit in neutral or forward?

You have to disconnect the shiftrod.

How do you get to the shift rod?

When the lower unit is down as far as you can get it, look in the gap and you will see a screw holding the upper and lower shiftrod together.
