Water Pump Kit for 1993 175 XRI EFI

I'm having trouble figuring out which water pump kit I need for my 1993 175 XRI EFI. I haven't disassembled yet, but I would like to go ahead and purchase the full kit just in case. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Also any preference on the brand: OEM, Sierra, Mallory, etc.?

How often should thermostats be replaced? Only when malfunction is suspected or after a certain period of time? Everything is working well, it is just way past due on an impeller change.

Get on the Crowleymarine.com website and look up your motor. It should have an OEM part number for the impeller repair kit. Then you can cross reference to Sierra or Mallory or whomever.

The sierra catalog should have your motor listed by serial number, so it should have the correct kit. It is likely the standard one Merc uses for everyting from my '77 1500 to my '88 Alpha 1 sterndrive.
