Water pump issue (MABY)

I have a yamaha 90 hp 2 cycle. I just replaced the water pump. The **** tube has a strong stream of water when running. no water noticed out the exaust holes My question is does alot of water suppost to come out of the area where the speed hose comes from the lower unit. It does not squart out the round hole but rolles out of it. This all happened when testing the motor in a water filled trash can. Motor did not seam to get over heated but stayed normal. But the water by the speedo hole is that a problem. ( above top cavitation fin.)

Same motor as mine and replaced my water pump last year. While running my motor on the muffs, seems like water coming out of every hole, knook and cranny on the lower unit. As long as it's pissing O.K., and not overheating, should be good to go! My wife has mentioned to me several times to quit looking around for problems and being paranoid about that motor!....she may be right!;)
