Actually I thought your post was great! I've done that job 1,00's of times,and do it automatically.No,I could not list it with the accuracy you did.

If I were trying to add a water pressure guage,I would try to tee into the hose from the transom to the engine (most direct source from the pump itself).Then install a new pump,and use that reading as a standard.
