OK Guys,

I have worked an cars for a long time. My outboard experience is very limited. I assume the water pump is in the foot. I have no idea how to do this. Is there a place that has a manua? Or better yet, can I get the direction already on line somewhere?

2. I noticed that there are two nuts on each side of the lower part of the foot. IS this where I need to take it apart. If so, what about the shaft or linkage to the prop??

Soory, but I have no experience at all on this. I feel confident that I can do it, but I just have no experience. If it was a Honda, I could handle it with eyes closed.

Thanks a bunch guys. This is a truly great site.

Hey Ziggy,
What make/model/HP is your motor? The water pump job isn't usually too difficult but a manual will make the job a cinch and is money well spent. Click the link at the top of this page (Manuals) for pricing, etc. Good luck. ;)
Backlash

It's a Chrysler 55 hp. Made in 1973.
Model is 55HGor something similar. I know it has the HG at the end.

I was hoping I could find something that was scanned online. I'm trying to get it ready for duck hunting this Saturday. We'll see how that goes.
