water pump gauge

my water pump gauge is not working,how can i tell if it is the gauge or the water pump that is not working

it's a 175hp johnson faststrike

You should have a tell-tale water stream showing. Might consider pulling the water hose off of the guage and see if you have water coming through, if not try using a compressor and blow back through the hose, could be plugged.
