Hey guys, I'm super frustrated. Having a baby in the spring so I figured I would replace the W/P this fall so I dont have to worry about it in the spring.

Ordered Kit 3C7-87322-1

Prior to putting the pump in I had no problems.

Now I have water come out of every where when its running.

As soon as I start it up water pees out of the pee hole on the head, but also out of the hole labled 1 in the picture. I believe this is the water speed pickup. never did this before.

Next it starts coming out of the back of the housing about half way up. Number 2 in the picture.

If i plug number 2 with my finger, the water will travel all the way to the top off the housing and come out where number 3 is.

Take it apart, put it back together, back apart, back together.

Replace the plastic housing along with the grommet at the top, no dice. Same thing.

Put the old pump in, SAME THING.

really scratching my head here.

The only thing funky I see is when blow into the water tube hole on the wp housing, air comes out between the shaft and pump housing (shown in second pic). Is this normal? Could this be where the leak is?

This is seriously putting a damper on my striper hopes!!!

Any help appreciated.

Sounds like the water pipe is not seated in the grommet in the top of the wp housing, so you are filling the lower leg.

But then it wouldnt pump at all out the top of the head?

The lower units is bolted back on tight, so it cant go up anymore?

The water pipe is not 100% circular. Looks like the PO may have boogered it up. Should I put some blue RTV on it to assist in sealing? I was originaly going to order a new water pipe bu it looks like you have to remove the power head to install it.

You are probably right... the pipe is probably leaking at the grommet. Ideally you want a new water pipe. Yes, it does require pulling the power head. You might get lucky re-shaping the end of the tube... or some sealant might help... but the sealant would need to stiffen before the water pressure comes up and blows it out.
