Water pressure or temp gauge

Hey guys I have 1990 120 l drive 120ld90a I wanted to put a water pressure or temp gauge on my motor witch one would you do and would I do it thanks

I had to face the same dilemma before and finally decided to go with the water pressure gauge. Just make sure you get a gauge with no more than 30 psi scale so you can readily see the pressure. The temp gauge is OK except it doesn't do any good until casualty (overheating) is already happening while the water pressure gauge will tells you before hand if your impeller or cooling system is suffering blockage or weakened impeller due to reduced pressure. Of course, assuming you regularly monitor your pressure.

I had mine hooked up by using the plug on the thermostat and using an elbow connector with 1/8" connection. I bought the pressure gauge kit that came with the tubing. I initially filled the tubing with fresh water before connecting it to the elbow connector. The purpose is to keep fresh water pushing against the pressure gauge instead of salt water since I use my boat on salt water. I flush the unit at the end of the season to ensure salt does not clog it up.
