water pressure on my 84 dt 85

i was reading another boaters post and he stated that his suzuki pees like a fire hose. I replaced my impeller, gasket and plate at the spring of this year and noticed improved water flow thru the engine but it doesn't pee like a fire hose. is this normal. how do i check water pressure and should it be peeing like a fire hose?

to check water pressure<br />there is a small 1/8" npt plug with a square head<br />located on the heag.<br />this is where you hook up the plumbing for a guage<br /><br />I have a 1987 DT85 that pees like a fire hose<br />but am still having overheating problems<br />my guage reads 7 psi @ wot<br />if you install a guage please post what your<br />wot pressure is

Working on my DT 85 as well. Got a tip that a lean fuel mixture will also cause over heat. If the overheat you are getting is the buzzer, you may also want to check the oil injection. You may be getting low service on the oil. Pulled mine and found crap in the tank blocking part of the intake. Blew out all the lines when I serviced it today.
