Now that the old Merc (1983 50hp) is running,
has a strong telltale stream, and the TNT is repaired, I'm almost ready to go fishin'.

Main problem was that fuse hidden under the main wiring connection. Replaced the holder and had all kinds of fire to everything.

Now before a trip to Lake Tarpon, I want to install a water pressure guage. I've got a couple of OMC guages with instructions for Jonrude motors, but no idea how to hook up a
guage on my Merc. The gauges shoudln't know the difference ;)

Suns finally out but, too cold. Heard the Trout are running off Long Pier.

Thanks to one and all this board is wonderful!

Get a vacuum line tee from an automotive store that fits the size of tubing going to your tell tale hole.

Cut the tube (tell tale) and insert the tee. The open end of the tee will then go to your H2O press. guage.

Re: Water Pressure Guage

Thanks a bunch. I'll get that done tomorrow. Does anyone know about how much pressure the Merc should produce?

5-15 psi depends on RPM

There is a plug on top back of the powerhead that you can remove and install a fitting..I believe its on your model??
